Thank you for joining us as we move away from fast fashion and toward more sustainable apparel production practices. We love providing bespoke, hand-made-to-order organic apparel and appreciate your support of the policies that make this possible through your shopping with us! In comparison to most inventory-based organizations, our made-to-order business approach allows us to just add a 2X profit markup. This means you can have a hand-cut, hand-sewn, and hand-dyed bespoke garment for a wholesale (discounted) price. However, because our profit margin is so small, garments purchased at a discount require stricter return conditions.

Our solution to this restriction is to offer customers the choice to purchase their garment at the full price at the outset if they want the option of a store credit exchange.

REFUNDS

NOT SUSTAINABLE

Because all garments are handmade to order we do not offer refunds. Please review our alterations, overdyes, exchange, or resell options above.

We are so thankful for your support in shifting the expectations of fast fashion to one of mindful consumption. Ordering from small artisan groups where sustainability is more important than having fast fashion return policies is being the change you wish to see in the world, and we thank you for being apart of the eco revolution. Our made to order business model and no refunds policy is essential to our collective goals of sustainability.

ALTERATIONS AND OVERDYES

MOST SUSTAINABLE

We want to address any issues you might be having with your garment as eco-friendly as possible, so basic alterations and overdyes are free if the Returns Request Form is submitted within 7 days of the original receiving date. We will only need to charge you for the cost of return shipping from our studio back to you and you will be responsible for shipping garment to us. Please bear in mind that we offer custom clothing (not tailored) that requires the body to be present. For this type of adjustment, we recommend that you establish a relationship with a local tailor (most dry cleaners).

ALTERATIONS

We offer basic alterations such as hemming. We no longer have the time to take on more in depth tailoring such as taking in as pinned or design changes, we recommend a local tailor (most Dry Cleaners) for this level of alteration.  Please review our Size ChartFabric Size Recommendations, and Length Charts carefully before placing your order, as we are not able to make garments bigger or add length later. If a simple alteration is all you need a local tailor can probably take care of this for less than the round trip shipping cost to have us do it. For price comparison this is typically about $24-$30 total for shipping both ways if your in the U.S.

OVERDYES

If you are not crazy about the color you originally picked we offer overdyes. This is also a great option for a garment refresh. Please double check which overdye colors are POSSIBLE for your original color choice before making your selection on the form. Over-dyeing your garment with another color will create a unique color that combines the first color as a base tone to the new overdye color. Garments that have been stained or washed with wax based detergents can produce variations in the way the fiber will take the dye.

If it is past our 7 day deadline we charge $30 per overdye or hemming

ALTERATIONS and OVERDYES will be added to our production cycle so please allow 2-4 weeks plus shipping time for alterations to be processed. If you need things quicker or require tailoring please contact a local tailor.

You will still be responsible for return shipping and the shipping cost to send garment back to you from the studio. Please wait to receive our assessment before sending garment(s) back to our studio.  We will provide you with paperwork to include with your garment(s) and instructions for sending garment(s) back to us.  Please allow 1-3 business days for our assessment response. Exchanges

LESS SUSTAINABLE

Purchasing bespoke clothing online can be tricky, and there is no assurance that you will be pleased with the custom choices you make for your garment. We offer our clothes at a wholesale (discounted) price, with no profit margin to cover returns. Rather than boosting our pricing completely, we offer customers the choice of purchasing their garment at full price in the beginning if they want the option of exchanging it for store credit.

Choosing alternations and overdyes over exchanges is extremely beneficial to both our small business and the environment.

PURCHASED AT A DISCOUNT PRICE

If you purchased your Garment at the Discounted Price it is considered a Final Sale. We are happy to offer Alterations and Overdyes or you can sell your garment through our resell program (coming soon), on Poshmark, or the many resell and trade groups on Facebook.

Purchased from our Sale Page or One of a Kind Page

If you purchased your Garment at the SALE PAGE or ONE OF A KIND PAGE it is considered a Final Sale and is not eligible for Return, Free Overdye, or Free Alterations. We can offer Overdyes or Alterations for a fee or you can sell your garment through our resell program (coming soon), on Poshmark, or the many resell and trade groups on Facebook.

PURCHASED AT FULL PRICE

If you purchased your garment at Full Price and added no discount through coupon codes or points to your order you are eligible for a Full Store Credit Exchange in the amount of the purchase price if Return Request Form is Completed within 7 Days Post Marked Original Receiving Date. You will still be responsible for return shipping.

Special Request Garments, Intimates, Overdyed, Altered, and Garments purchased with Store Credit from a previous exchange are not eligible for exchange

PURCHASED AT FULL PRICE (Coupon Code or Points added for discount)

If you purchased your garment at Full Price but then you added a coupon code or points to receive a discount you are eligible for an Exchange for Store Credit in the amount of the purchase price minus a 20% restocking fee if Return Request Form is Completed within 7 Days Post Marked Original Receiving Date. You will still be responsible for return shipping.

Exchange Garment must be unworn, unwashed, and pass inspection once returned to our studio before credit is given. Garments with a smell or pet hair will be returned at your expense.

We are not able to make direct exchanges for another garment because all Gaia Garments are handmade to order. Once you receive your store credit you can use it to purchase your garment with the changes you would like to make.

We reserve the right to refuse future sales if this offer is abused.

GARMENT FLAW

Gaia Conceptions passionately stands behind the quality of every garment. If your garment has a mistake, flaw, or we accidentally sent you the wrong garment we apologize for our misstep and we’re happy to fix the mistake, remake garment, or issue store credit if Returns Request Form is completed within 7 DAYS of post marked original receiving date. Garment(s) must be unworn and unwashed.

We are not able to offer refunds for mistakes.

- We cannot guarantee that you will like your garment, like the length, like the fit, or like the color you selected – we do not consider these a garment flaw.

- Because all body types are different and people with the same measurements can look drastically different in the same garment we cannot guarantee you will look the same as the model in the photo.

- Variations in dye are considered normal, and are not considered a flaw.

ORDER CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS


We are unable to accept cancellations for refunds after 24hrs from when order was placed. After that we can cancel your order in exchange for store credit as it applies to your order. For example if you ordered your item at a discount it will be considered a Final Sale. If you ordered your item at Full Price you can receive Store Credit based on the above Exchange rules.

  • In some circumstances, we can add to/combine multiple orders to save on shipping costs. To combine multiple orders, Contact US as soon as possible after placing your order.
  • We want your Gaia Garment to fit perfectly into your wardrobe, so if you’d like to change your size, color, or fabric, we’re here to help! As long as our team has not started on your order, there is still time to make changes to your order. Contact US as soon as you can.

  • If you need to make a change to your shipping address, Contact Us as soon as possible. We can change the address as long as the package has not left our building. Unfortunately, we cannot reroute a package once it has shipped.
