Clothing Care
It is normal for your garment to be a little snug at first, it will relax out a little both in fit and length after 15-20 mins of wearing. It will return to its original snugness when washed and dried in electric dryer. Our experience is you can add a little length to garment and sleeve by gently tugging garment.
Organic Cotton, Hemp Blends, Fleece, French Terry, Velour, Lace, Thermal, Woven
We recommend washing our knits and woven fabrics alone the first time and then with like colors in cold water. This will also help even out any slight tone variations due to the hand dyeing process. You can also toss these garment in the dryer on a medium-high heat. In fact washing and drying helps return our knits to there original size after they have stretched and conformed to your body. In general we love Dr Bronner's when diluted with water. It can strip color when applied directly to the natural dyes. If you have a top loader add the soap first and let it mix up a while before adding clothes. If you have a front loader and add the soap separate you should be good to go !
Wool + Silk
Hand or gentle machine wash cold, line dry flat or low temp tumble dry.
Natural Plant Dyes
It is normal for your Naturally Dyed garment to be a little more stiff and not as soft as our Low Impact Dye options. They will soften up with each wash and dry.
Our Natural Dyed garments do require more care when washing. Wash with a minimal amount of natural soap or mild detergent, we recommend diluted Dr Bronner's. Do not pour or apply detergent directly onto fabric Do not use detergent that contains enzymes, chlorine bleach, baking soda, fabric softeners, borax, or that is formulated for wool. Machine wash separately with cold water; use gentle cycle.
Plant dyes can easily be bleached by natural soaps, deodorants, and detergents and as such require more effort and mindfulness when worn and laundered. Acidic foods such as orange juice can remove natural dye colors if spilled on the naturally dyed fabric. If you line dry do so in the shade and out of direct light.
